This is a great introduction to the Schnauzer (Mini, Standard, and Giant). However, it feels like an introduction and not quite a thorough description of the breed. It also lends some silly statements like "If you ever need to leave your Schnauzer for more than four hours, you shouldn't have a Schnauzer." If that were the case, Schnauzers would only ever be owned by people who work from home or are retired! There are so many things to know about this breed and this does a wonderful job of scratching the surface. I believe the author has only ever owned one Schnauzer, however, so that might be why the book feels more like an introduction than a "handbook." But if this is your first Schnauzer, this would be an amazing book to read shortly after (or even before) bringing your new friend home!
